Spain is emerging as one of the top travel destinations for 2025, and the numbers back it up. According to recent data, Spain welcomed 94 million international tourists in 2024, a 10% increase compared to 2023, marking the country's best year for tourism to date (MADRID AP).

Similar numbers are set to be seen in 2025, with Spain playing a dominant role in Southern Europe’s tourism for the first half of this year. Mabrian’s Share of Searches Index*, which measures market interest in specific destinations by analysing flight search behaviour globally found, Spain has captured 33% of global international travel demand to the region, and 12% of global travel demand to Europe. This surge in interest highlights Spain’s rising prominence in the global tourism market and positions the country as a must visit destination for the upcoming year.

One of the leading factors for Spain’s tourism growth is their commitment to sustainable tourism practices and the growing demand for eco-friendly travel experiences have positioned it as a leader in responsible tourism. Many visitors are now looking for destinations that offer a balance between authentic experiences and environmental consciousness, which Spain is increasingly able to provide.
