Media Highlights & PR Update - Women Travel Solo

Lonely Planet’s Women Travel Solo has garnered notable media attention since its launch in May, shining a spotlight on the growing movement of women travelling alone. This beautifully designed coffee table book features a powerful and inspiring collection of 30 personal and unique stories from women who have ventured across the globe on their own terms. 

It is no surprise that this book has been met with such a positive response from media outlets, as it redefines solo travel and highlights resilience, courage, and the transformative power of going it alone. 

Since its release, Lonely Planet has carried out a successful book launch in The Treehouse Hotel, London. Lonely Planet’s Amy Lynch spoke alongside book contributor Stephanie Yeboah about the inspiration behind the book, their experiences, and how Lonely Planet’s resources can help those planning a solo adventure.

The discussion was hosted by Francesca Spector, writer and podcaster of Alonement. The panel truly inspired the audience of over 70 - content creators, a range of journalists from titles such as The Telegraph, Hello! Magazine, Prima and TTG and members of the public. My Soho Times wrote up a comprehensive article about the event.

In the US, Women Travel Solo appeared on CBS’ Great Day Live Tampa, where book contributor Lauren Gay spoke about her extract from the book, and how she regained her power once she began travelling solo.

New Zealand Booklovers celebrated the book calling it “invaluable for any woman considering travelling on her own” and praising the mix of inspiring stories and practical advice. Meanwhile, Underrated Reads complemented the book’s emotional depth, noting the diverse voices - from retirees to creatives - who “shared their inner vulnerabilities” and offered a profound sense of connection to readers.
