Best Beaches

Best Beaches displays 100 of the world's most exceptional and unexpected shorelines. This dazzling exhibit of diverse beaches, features transporting photography, tips on how to reach each beach, and reasons why Lonely Planet selected these as the 100 best. In the lead up to the book’s release date in February, Best Beaches received exceeding amounts of press coverage, from local and international media outlets.
Television and Radio:
Broadcasters were quick to feature Best Beaches on news channels across Australia, with the book appearing on The Today Show, and Weekend Sunrise, the highest rating national news breakfast programme in Australia. Ireland’s biggest morning show, Ireland AM praised Best Beaches live on air. With the book also getting airtime on radio, with Lonely Planet’s Chris Zeiher making an appearance on both ABC Radio Darwin and ABC Radio Adelaide to discuss Best Beaches.
Digital and Print Media Coverage:
Following the release of Lonely Planet’s Best Beaches, large-scale media coverage has been seen globally, with newsrooms celebrating the comprehensive selection of beaches featured in the book. Publications such as Time Out, ABC News AU, The Sun UK and Ireland, and CNN Travel, were among the many major news organisations to praise the book. Publishers Weekly featured Best Beaches in their Spring travel issue, and The Week shared the book in their January Newsletter.
Social Media:
A number of notable mentions have been made about Best Beaches on social media, with Tourism Australia sharing a post to their 5.8 million Instagram followers complimenting the book. An Indian tourism page, Kerala Tourism also posted Best Beaches to their 660K followers, highlighting Papanasham Beach. A number of notable influencers have shared the book to their social media, including Reader_ceygo (15.9K), Ohiobookgal (12K), and Amysalwaysreading (14K).

Amazing Train Journeys

With a growing number of travellers opting for new and exciting travel experiences, Lonely Planet’s Amazing Train Journeys couldn't have came at a better time. The book features 60 of the world's greatest and most memorable rail adventures. Every section includes detailed descriptions of each train journey, with practical information such as ticket recommendations, key stops and the best times to travel.
Digital and Print Media Coverage:
Amazing Train Journeys has garnered widespread media attention, captivating audiences with its exploration of breath-taking train routes around the globe. Many media outlets, such as Australian Traveller and Lifestylenews.com praised the book for its in-depth information about the 60 rail routes featured in the book. Publications such as Stuff.co.nz, Express.co.uk, and The Sun UK all included the train book in recent online publications. Amazing train Journeys made headlines in The New Zealand Herald’s Travel Supplement, providing readers with a look inside of the tracks less travelled.
Social Media:
The Australian Travel Instagram account, Austraveller posted Amazing Train Journeys to their 124K followers. A number of social media influencers shared the book on Instagram, including Libraryatcarleighs, who has 11K followers, and Reader_ceygo, with 15.9K followers.

Whether you’re planning a short trip or a long-haul journey, the tips and tricks in The Travel Hack Handbook will help you and your money go further when travelling. This book will help you see the sights for less and save on transport and accommodation. People want to travel while getting more for less, that is why after the release of our Travel Hack Handbook, the media went wild for the compact travel lifesaver.

The book has had a number of TV appearances, featuring on Australia’s national morning program Studio 10, and on Today Extra TV. The Travel Hack Handbook also got a shoutout on ABC Radio Melbourne, where Lonely Planet’s Chris Zeiher made a guest appearance to discuss solo travel and travel costs.
Digital and Print Media Coverage:
The Travel Hack Handbook was included in WHO Magazine’s article on solo traveling, which stated that the Lonely Planet guide is a must if you are holidaying alone. The book also got flagged in Bookpage’s Holiday Gifting Guide, which has 1.2 million readers and the guide is distributed to 3500 bookstores and Libraries. Other publications, such as Stuff.co.nz, Escape, and Where Wild Things Roam all recommended The Travel Hack Handbook in online articles.

Classic Guidebooks

Lonely Planet’s Classic Guidebooks global appeal and reputation for authenticity have been highlighted across a number of media platforms this month. Ahead of our upcoming releases, the Classic Guidebooks have received widespread acclaim from an array of publications.
Television and Radio:
Lonely Planet’s Tom Hall appeared on Newstalk Radio with Andrea Gilligan, to discuss our Ireland Guidebook, which was one of Lonely Planet’s best sellers in 2023. Promoting the upcoming release of its 16th edition in March, 30 years after the initial publication in 1994. The interview was also featured on Newstalk's Weekend Round-Up.
Digital and Print Media Coverage:
Online and digital publications have published a number of articles about Lonely Planet’s Classic Guidebooks. The Irish Independent, The Telegraph, News Today, Travel Extra, and The Daily Mail, have all featured the Classic Guidebooks from different destinations across the globe in recent publications. The Bookseller’s Travel Edit will release a cover dedicated to Lonely Planet’s Classic Guidebooks in March. Titles featured on the cover will include, Japan, London, Australia, Paris and many more.
